Shark Awareness
Most divers are curious about the different types of sharks they will encounter in Maldives. Cheval Blanc Randheli’s Dive Centre operated by Dive Butler International have their own unique Shark Awareness Speciality Course. This PADI approved speciality course will answer all your questions about sharks. Topics cover different species, shark anatomy, feeding and mating behaviours, myths about sharks and seasonal movement. The course comprises of a two hour Lecture/Power Point presentation followed by two dives at local dive sites where sharks can be encountered and observed.
The Fun Part
Somehow sharks fascinate us divers. The fun will be in being able to recognise which species of sharks we have encountered, whether they are males of females, spotting the different anatomical features and mating scars.
What You Will Learn
- To have a safe, supervised and controlled introduction to scuba diving in location where sharks are present
- To develop the skills and knowledge necessary to safely participate in such dives while being able to recognise the most common species of sharks encountered
- To correct widespread misconceptions
