Sailing to the Silverbanks |
|
After having left the big protected bay of Samana on the North East side of the Dominican Republic we set sail just after Sunset and head North North-East.
The crossing takes the best part of 14 hours and we arrive at Silver Banks just in time for breakfast, the only discerning above the water features are the ship wreck and another expedition boat. My anticipation starts to really run high as although I’ve been a diver for for over 13 years I’ve never swam with Humpback whales. I have to admit that the thought of swimming next to these leviathans concerns me a little! |
